MemeBean Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms", also our end-user licence agreement) are an agreement between you and the developer of MemeBean, Logesh Kumar ("we", "us"). By tapping I Agree in the app, or by using MemeBean, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What MemeBean is

MemeBean lets you browse, search, caption and share meme images. Content in the app comes from:

• The MemeBean catalog — meme templates and film stills collected from third-party sources (for example Imgflip, memegen.link, tamilmemes.co.in and named YouTube channels), each attributed to the source it came from;
• Web results — when the catalog has nothing for a search, images found on the public web through Google Images with SafeSearch switched on, each attributed to the website or account that published it. A web result you open may be added to the catalog for other users;
• Your own creations — captions, stickers and drawings you add, and photos you pick from your library. These stay on your device unless you choose to share them.

2. Objectionable content is not allowed

You must not use MemeBean to create, search for, share or promote content that is:

• sexually explicit or pornographic, or that sexualises minors in any way;
• violent, gory, or that threatens, glorifies or incites violence or self-harm;
• hateful, harassing, bullying or discriminatory towards any person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality;
• defamatory, or that targets a private individual;
• spam, scams, or illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.

Abusive users — anyone who uses MemeBean to harass others or to spread such content — are not welcome and will be blocked.

3. How we filter content

• Web searches are made with SafeSearch on.
• Searches, titles and tags are checked against an objectionable-content filter; matching searches return nothing and matching results are never shown.
• Content that several people report is hidden for everyone automatically, before we have even reviewed it.

No filter is perfect. If something gets through, please report it.

4. Reporting objectionable content

Every meme in MemeBean can be reported:

• open a meme and tap Report, or long-press any meme in a list and choose Report, or tap the flag button in the editor;
• pick a reason (sexual content, violence, hate or harassment, spam, or other) and optionally add a note.

The reported item disappears from your feed immediately. The developer is notified straight away, and every report is reviewed and acted on within 24 hours: objectionable content is removed for all users and the source that provided it is blocked. You can also email logeshgcp@gmail.com.

5. Blocking abusive users and sources

Next to Report you will find Block. Blocking the user, account, website or collection that a meme came from instantly removes everything from that source from your feed and search results, and notifies the developer so the source can be reviewed and removed for everyone. You can review and undo blocks in Settings → Blocked sources.

6. Your content and conduct

You are responsible for the captions you write and for what you share outside the app. Do not use MemeBean to harass anyone. We may remove content and restrict access to MemeBean for anyone who breaks these Terms.

7. Rights in the content

Memes in the catalog and web results belong to their respective owners and are shown for commentary, parody and personal, non-commercial use. If you own something shown in MemeBean and want it removed, email logeshgcp@gmail.com and we will remove it.

8. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use MemeBean on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and the usage rules of the store you downloaded it from. If you downloaded MemeBean from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these Terms, these Terms prevail to the extent permitted. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no responsibility for MemeBean or its content, no obligation to provide support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.

9. Privacy

See the Privacy Policy. MemeBean has no accounts; a report or block sends the item, its source, your reason and note, and a random identifier that is not linked to you.

10. Disclaimers and liability

MemeBean is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app or of third-party content shown in it.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
